Syeikh Abdul Ghani bin Hj. Othman was born on 23 January 1959 in Kampung Sungai Dedap, Yan, Kedah Darul Annan. He graduated from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Bangi in the field of Islamic studies (Bachelor of Islamic studies (Syariah) and a Bachelor of Islamic studies) with Upper Second-class Honours in the Shariah. Subsequently he was pursuing the Diploma in Law, administration and the Islamic Judiciary (DAIJ) › 1993 in international Islamic University Malaysia, Petaling Jaya.

 

He is currently the Chief Registrar, Kedah State Syariah judicial Department. Prior to that he answered the post of Principal Assistant Director P endakw ahan cum Chief Prosecutor at the Department of religious affairs, State of Kedah Darul Aman from 1993-3.9.2011.
